Admissions Requirements

  • Be rising High School sophomores, juniors, or seniors
  • Live commuting-distance to the Columbia University campus 
  • Demonstrate academic achievement and interest in STEM subjects

Application Requirements

  • Student and parent/guardian personal information
  • Preferences for SHAPE session, course, elective, and lab
  • GPA and test scores
  • Student and parent/guardian (electronic) signatures
  • Write two essays, choose two questions and do NOT answer all three
  • Limit responses to 300 words maximum
  • Essay prompts are provided in the online application
  • Letter from a math or science teacher
  • Email the recommendation form to your recommender or provide him/her with a link to this page of the website
  • Copy of most recent high school transcript
  • Resume
